Spring has sprung and what better way to enjoy the sunshine than by listening to The Northern Soul Podcast?

This week Lucy chats to Hatcham Social at Manchester’s Soup Kitchen. Hatcham Social have been described by The Guardian as ‘irrestistible’ while Tim Burgess calls them ‘a wonderful pop group with the world’s coolest drummer’ (Finnigan Kidd, formerly of Klaxons).

Lucy also plays tunes by, among others, Francois & the Atlas Mountains, Shy Nature, Lucius and Boy & Bear.

Lucy McNamara was the producer and presenter of The Northern Soul Podcast. A freelance radio presenter, podcaster and voiceover artist, Lucy was the Weekend Breakfast presenter at 2BR, Lancashire’s local commercial station. Lucy started out as a journalist more than a decade ago and has worked for BBC Radio Leicester, Norfolk, Cambridge and Stoke, presenting, news reading and reporting. Prior to 2BR she was BBC 6 Music’s regular cover for the music news on Radcliffe & Maconie. During her time at 6 Music she presented the music news on the Shaun Keaveny breakfast show and has assistant-produced for Guy Garvey and Marc Riley.
