Preview: GIGANTIC Indie All-Dayer, Manchester Academy
Indie fans looking for a day-long dose of nostalgia are in for a treat this month when the fourth volume of the Gigantic Indie All-Dayer takes place at Manchester Academy on May 27.
Bands include Pop Will Eat Itself, The Primitives, Thousand Yard Stare, EMF, Jim Bob (Carter USM) and Mark Morriss (The Bluetones). Headlining the event are The Wedding Present, performing from their classic album George Best – the final time the album will be played live. Throw in a real ale and cider festival and you have the makings of a perfect bank holiday Saturday. Northern Soul’s head photographer Chris Payne will be there to capture the action.
