The Northern Soul Podcast: Miriam Jones
It’s time for another great Northern Soul Podcast!
This month Lucy McNamara chats to singer/songwriter Miriam Jones. The Canadian, who now lives in Britain, is on tour following a stint supporting Roddy Frame. Her new album, Between Green and Gone, is a collection of poignant short stories in song form brought to life through a creative partnership with Simon Edwards (Fairground Attraction, Billy Bragg, David Gray). Her music is “delivered with a grit and warmth that puts Jones firmly in the Bonnie Raitt and Joan Osborne class of tough but soulful exponents of North American roots music”.
Also on this month’s podcast, Lucy previews must-see gigs across the North of England and plays great music including Justice Vs Simian, Bon Iver, Natural Born Chillers, School 94, Of Monsters and Men, Chemical Brothers and MAMMÚT.
You can get in touch with Lucy via Twitter @Lucy_McNamara or via Northern Soul @Northern_Soul_
