The Northern Soul Podcast: El Whaeko
November: the season for fireworks, bonfires, toffee apples and the latest edition of the Northern Soul Podcast.
Presenter and Producer Lucy McNamara is back with another ear-pleasing episode which sees her chatting to El Whaeko. A lone wolf in years previous, Lee Atkinson aka Elwhaeko (a hybrid of nick-names applied to Atkinson throughout his life) assembled a pack of fellow musicians in Laura Dowse (bass, vocals), Jack Husch (lead guitar), David Tomlinson (drums, vocals) and Roy Leo Lyon (harmonica, vocals) and produces unique, soulful vocals, northernly stories and alluring melodies. In addition, Lucy’s brilliant playlist consists of, among others, James Holt, Aldous Harding, Agnes Obel and International Teachers of Pop.
The Northern Soul podcast is a PRS-licensed podcast which showcases new music as well as playing some well known tracks. It features bands from the North of England as well as those visiting this part of the world. If you would like your music to be considered for the Northern Soul Podcast, please contact Lucy McNamara on twitter @Lucy_McNamara or on Instagram @radiolucymac.
