Gallery: One foot in the cradle, M I L K at House of Blah Blah, Exchange House, Middlesbrough
For the second show at House of Blah Blah, M I L K present One foot in the cradle, guest-curated by Ash Howland-Davenport and Matt Wilkinson.
Showcasing the practice of six artists, One foot in the cradle takes its title from actor Sir Derek Jacobi’s assertion that “artists need to retain one foot in the cradle, in the sense that they have to be clued into and fixed on to those immediate feelings and emotions, and demonstrate them as a child does”.
M I L K are an artists’ collective based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Formed in 2015, M I L K offer a platform for emerging and early-career artists to showcase work, and have curated exhibitions nationally. Featured artists: Ann Carragher, Garth Gratrix, Ash Howland-Davenport, Rene McBrearty, Dave Tweedy and Matt Wilkinson.
