BBQ recipes for summer evenings from Wing Yip: Miso and Honey Chicken Wings
As the weather begins to seriously warm up, there’s no better time to fire up the barbecue and enjoy dinner al fresco. Wing Yip, the UK’s largest Oriental Grocer, has created a selection of flavoursome recipes to spice up your summer barbecues.
This week, we’ve got a delicious recipe for Wing Yip’s Miso and Honey Wings. Great for sharing, this dish is bound to be a hit this summer. Before serving, sprinkle over the spring onion and sesame seeds to add some crunch.
Miso and Honey Chicken Wings
Serves 6
Ingredients:
1 clove garlic, minced
3 tbsp white miso paste
3 tbsp honey
1 tbsp mirin
1 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
24 chicken wings, mid and prime joints
1 spring onion, finely sliced
1 tsp white sesame seeds
- Pre-heat the oven to 180°c and line a large baking tray with foil.
- In a large bowl mix together the garlic, white miso paste, honey, mirin, light soy sauce and sesame oil. Once mixed, add the chicken wings and thoroughly coat them all in the sauce.
- Lay the chicken wings on the baking tray on a single layer and cook for 20-25 minutes turning them once halfway through the cooking time. The wings should be nicely browned all over and cooked so that the juices run clear.
- Remove the wings from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes. Just before serving sprinkle over the spring onion and sesame seeds and then serve.
Wing Yip has four superstores located in Birmingham, Manchester, Cricklewood and Croydon, and an online shop at wingyip.com.
