Photo Gallery: GinnelWatch – time to show us your ginnels…
We love a good ginnel at Northern Soul. But, depending on where you’re from, there are all sorts of words for what essentially amounts to an alleyway, including jennel, snicket, vennel, gennel, jitty, jetty and our favourite…a weind.
While we’ve had to stay local due to COVID-19 restrictions, we’ve got some brilliant images from Leigh, Stretford, Chorlton and Ancoats.
So, what are you waiting for? Get those cameras out and #ShowUsYourGinnels.

So, if you have a favourite ginnel, please share it with us. You can do this via our Twitter, Facebook or Instagram pages and your snaps will be featured on our weekly ginnel photo gallery.

Best thing we've learned today (from Radio 2): Paul Weller has seen all episodes of Paw Patrol at least six times.
@manchesterisace @BakersVaults @EmmaYatesBadley There's a limited menu, so it's mostly just burgers and fries. But there are vegan and veggie options. Also, I can't recommend the fries and the fried pickles highly enough.
We were also hugely impressed by The Cracked Actor, which has a great outside seating area, ordering system and cocktail selection. Two brilliant choices if you're thinking about dipping a toe back in the outside world but feel a little nervous. @stopinstockport
We headed into Stockport for some socially distanced al fresco food & drink. Special mention needs to go to @BakersVaults for putting us at ease in a super safe environment. Our @EmmaYatesBadley was happy to get her mitts on an Old J Spiced Rum and ginger beer. It's been a year! pic.twitter.com/Dwc1FFkuHt
