GinnelWatch: Tidying up ginnels with Our Edgeley Alley
It’s no secret that the team at Northern Soul love a good ginnel. We’ve even created #GinnelWatch so you lovely lot can share your own brilliant images. But sometimes ginnels are the forgotten parts of our neighbourhoods. Hidden between houses, they can often become places where we store our unwanted items. Unfortunately, during the COVID-19 lockdown the tips were shut and ginnels became targets for fly-tipping.
Fed up with the rubbish that accumulated in their community, a group of residents in Edgeley, Stockport, formed Our Edgeley Alley and decided to clear up the ginnels in their area, bringing some much-needed colour and fun to their alleyways, turning the space into somewhere the community can all enjoy.
You can follow the progress of Our Edgeley Alley on Instagram here.
